Quartz is a man-made product that is similar, yet different, to granite. Like it's counterpart, quartz is exceptionally hard, heat resistant, and scratch resistant. However, because it is made up of 93% quartz crystals and 7% polymer resin, the surface is virtually non-porous which eliminates the need for sealing. The color & pattern of quartz is also very consistent because it is a man-made product and can be regulated during the manufacturing process
